Artificial school
spirit carries
$40,000 price tag
Remember the good old days when a school could “burn” the school’s letter or letters into the football stadium turf using gasoline?
That was in the pre-environmental age when gas cost 45 cents a gallon which is where prices seem to be headed once again. Monday’s cheapest gas in Manteca was $1.87 at Costco, Sinclair and Quicki Kleen. Altogether there are 11 Manteca gas stations are selling fuel for under $2 a gallon.
At any rate it will cost around $40,000 to have the letters “WR” included as part of the artificial turf proposed for the Weston Ranch High football field.
