An off-duty Manteca Police officer reportedly spotted a 24-year-old Manteca woman driving in a small blue pickup truck Thursday morning and recognized her as being on searchable probation from a previous conviction.

The officer contacted the dispatcher and patrolmen were advised that the motorist was in the area near Manteca High School.  Officer Armen Avakian made a traffic stop in the 200 block of South Sherman Avenue about 11 a.m. and conducted a search of the vehicle that yielded a gun, pills, methamphetamine, a sizeable amount of cash and marijuana.

Avakian found some of the drugs hidden in the back of the passenger seat, he said.

Sarah Renee Baltzley was arrested on numerous drug and gun possession charges and transported to the San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.
