Hitting cars with his fists and striking one man in the face through the open window of his pickup truck as he was leaving the Stadium Retail Center on Airport Way Wednesday afternoon were the allegations that brought several officers to the scene to detain Tony Agbomabinon, 23, of Stockton.

The Manteca Police dispatch center received several 911 calls from motorists at 1:30 p.m. who feared for their safety as the Stockton man fled across the parking lot.  Officers found the 23-year-old on Airport Way near the 120 Bypass and detained him.  The driver who had been assaulted in the face filled out a citizen’s arrest form for the assault.

Agbomabinon and his mother had been shopping in one of the center’s department stores before he left on his own and allegedly began to assault the cars exiting the center on Daniels Drive near the Big League Dreams park.

He was making it known to officers that he wanted to go to a hospital.  His mother drove up on the side of the road and parked behind the police cars some 15 to 20 minutes later voicing support for her son.
