Police recover stolen rifle during search

A rifle taken in a residential burglary was found during a probation search mid-afternoon Thursday in the 300 block of Moffat Boulevard by Manteca Police Street Crimes Unit.

 Jesse Raymond Gliden, 19, was arrested for the possession of the rifle along with being in possession of packaged methamphetamine. Manteca Police spokesman Jason Hensley said that Gliden was a validated gang member. 

He was reportedly charged with six felonies including possession of methamphetamine for sale, street terrorism, being armed while in the possession of drugs, being a felon in possession of a firearm, being a felon in possession of ammunition, possession of stolen property, participation in a criminal street gang and for being a gang member in possession of a firearm.

Gliden was transported to the San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp where he is being held in lieu of $660,000.  His court appearance is scheduled for Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the Manteca Branch of the San Joaquin County Superior Court.        

Also on Thursday afternoon Street Crime Unit officers contacted Christopher Anthony Chisholm, 18, in the 200 block of Acacia Avenue.  Chisholm, a validated gang member, was found to be in possession of a hand gun.

He was booked in county jail for being a felon in possession of a firearm, for street terrorism, for being a gang member with a felony conviction in possession of a loaded firearm, for participation in a criminal street gang and for being a felon in possession of ammunition.

His bail was set at $550,000 and he is scheduled to appear in the Manteca Branch of the San Joaquin County Superior Court at 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
