Richard Daniel Breakfield and Erasmo Bugarin, both 21 years old, are being sought  by Manteca Policefor questioning in the New Years Eve beating that left Miguel Valles in critical condition with severe head injuries outside a convenience store on North Union Road near the Union Pacific Railroad tracks.

Police have one suspect already in custody, but they are not disclosing his identity at this time as they search for the other two responsible parties.

Valles  was in front of the store last Thursday night when he was confronted by three men asking where he was from,  jumping him and reportedly kicking him in the head after  he was on the ground.  Police suspected the altercation was gang related, they said.

Valles was first transported to Doctors Hospital of Manteca and then rushed code 3 to the trauma unit at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto where he immediately went into surgery, police said.

Detectives have been putting in overtime hours attempting to find the other two suspects in the case with Detective Steve Beerman assigned as the primary officer.

The Crime Stoppers organization is hoping the public can be of help in locating Breakfield and Bugarin and bringing them in for questioning.  Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for arrests leading to convictions in the case.  Callers will remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 823-4636.  Callers do not have to give their names and will be identified only by a number.
