Goodland Landscape Construction, Inc. will handle the Mistlin Indoor Arena Parking Lot Project.

The Tracy firm was hired at the Nov. 20 special session of the Ripon City Council. Since 1995, Goodland Landscape has specialized in outdoor recreational parks, play areas, and sports field construction.

Staff reviewed the bids of the seven companies interested in the project, recommending Goodland, which came in with the low-bid of $1.6 million ($1,602,208 base bid).

The Mistlin Indoor Sports Facility is the future home of the Rage Volleyball Club – elected leaders approved the Rage’s lease and operation agreement at their Aug. 14 meeting.

The base bid of the project calls for a 210-space parking lot with drainage, lighting, landscaping, irrigation system, and pavement extension and a sidewalk along Fulton Avenue.

The alternative bid consists of a 10.4- by 19.4- foot trash enclosure coupled with a sidewalk leading to the trash enclosure.

According to the report by Engineering Supervisor Elizabeth Quilici, the project will be finance via the Parks and Recreation General Capital Fund. This same funding source will be fully reimbursed with lease revenues from the Rage Volleyball Club within 15 years, assuming a 2 percent interest rate, she added.
