Manteca City Council District 4 candidate Dani Bettencourt has secured endorsements from the Republican Party of San Joaquin County and the San Joaquin Young Republicans.

Bettencourt is running against incumbent Mike Morowit and Rogger Gutierrez in the Nov. 3 election to represent the council district that includes all of Manteca north of Louise Avenue except for the Diamond Oaks neighborhood.

The endorsements come as Bettencourt continues to focus her campaign on the top issues impacting Manteca: traffic, public safety, affordability, infrastructure, government transparency and accountability, housing, and quality of life.

“I’m honored to have the support of the Republican Party of San Joaquin County and the San Joaquin Young Republicans,” said Bettencourt.

“This campaign is about Manteca and the issues that directly affect our families, seniors, homeowners, and small businesses. I will always stand with law enforcement, first responders, and veterans, oppose new taxes and fee increases, work to improve affordability, and demand strict transparency and accountability with your tax dollars.”

Bettencourt has emphasized that Manteca must get its basic priorities right before taking on additional spending. Her platform calls for prioritizing public safety obligations, repairing neglected infrastructure to fix traffic, supporting responsible housing growth, protecting local control over zoning, and ensuring taxpayer dollars are focused on core city services.

Upcoming forums

The Interact Club of Manteca will host the 2026 Manteca Civic Forum on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 6 p.m. at the VFW Veterans Center, at 580 Moffat Blvd.

The forum is designed to provide residents with an opportunity to hear directly from candidates running for Manteca Mayor and the Manteca City Council.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with the program beginning at 6 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.

The Manteca Chamber of Commerce is hosting a forum on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 2 p.m. at the Emory Hall, 1028 West Yosemite Ave.

There is a $10 charge. Refreshments will be served.

Lei Ann Varletta Larson is running against incumbent Dave Breitenbucher for the District 3 seat.

Mayor Gary Singh is being challenged by Jacob Naven.
