Foundation pour nears for new 2-story CTE Ripon High classrooms

Work by CT Brayton & Sons is currently taking place on the two-story Career Technical Education Center at Ripon High.

Work is currently taking place at Ripon High on the new Career Technical Education Center.

Andy Strickland, who is the Director of Facilities, Operations & Safety Services, said at the Sept. 11 Ripon Unified school board meeting that most of work up to now is “pre-underground.”

He added: “We’ve been waiting on clarification from the Division of State Architect on the elevator.”

Construction on the two-story facility located on south of RHS campus is being conducted by CT Brayton & Sons. Once completed, the CTE Center will accommodate a variety of career pathway courses, including ag science, ag business, software & systems and patient care.

 Strickland provided an update on the project, saying, “we hope to (concrete) pour the foundation at the of the month.”

Other updates from his department as of August included:

·         Programing and deploying two-way radios as part of the district-wide plan.

·         Resodding areas of the football field at RHS’ Stouffer Field.

·         Problem-solving the HVAC issues.

·         Adding sprinklers and landscaping to the front of the Student Service building.

·         Bringing in two new night custodians.

·         Lining up the soccer fields at all of elementary school sites.
