Jacqueline Darlene Israel, lovingly known throughout her life as Darlene, Jackie, and most affectionately Nana, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on June 24, 2026. Born on September 7, 1946, in Stockton, California. She grew up in Tracy, where she attended school and began forming the deep, lifelong connections that would become a hallmark of her life.

Darlene built a career defined not just by hard work, but by heart. To her co‑workers, she was Jackie—reliable, warm, and always ready with a smile. She cherished the friendships she made, many of which lasted decades beyond her retirement. Even after stepping away from her professional life, she continued to attend work reunion luncheons, keeping those bonds alive with the same devotion she brought to everything she loved.

Darlene and her husband Glenn made their home in Manteca, California in the late 1980s, where she raised her children and later helped raise her grandchildren. Her home was a gathering place—steady, welcoming, and full of the kind of warmth only she could create. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, attending her grandsons’ ball games and spending time with the people who meant the most to her.

As the eldest daughter of the Taylor family, Darlene was its strength—its anchor. To her brothers and sisters, she was simply Darlene: dependable, wise, and unwavering. But to the generations that followed—her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great‑nieces and nephews—she was Nana, a name that carried comfort, joy, and unconditional love.

Her legacy is one of devotion, resilience, and deep family roots. She leaves behind a family that adored her, friendships that endured across decades, and a lifetime of memories that will continue to guide and uplift those she loved.

Darlene lived a life full of connection, laughter, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Glenn Israel, her daughter, Sandra (Orlando) Mahan, her son, Michael (Karen) Sims, and her stepsons, Damon and Jeffrey Israel.

Darlene (“Nana”), is also remembered by her grandchildren, Joey Sims, Jessica Guillory, Aaron Sims, Shelby Sims, Trinity Israel, Bella Israel and Julie Israel. She’s also survived by her great grandson Joseph Guillory, great granddaughter Ariella Guillory, and by her sister, Patty (Donnie) Judd.

Darlene was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather Eileen and Fred Sargenti, her father, Harry Taylor, her brothers, Earl Mix, Harry “Wayne” Taylor and Garry Moore. Also preceding her were her sisters, Nancy Taylor Soto, Sharon Robertson and Marilyn Taylor, her grandson Robert “Bobby” Guillory Jr. and her granddaughter, Athina Kelley.

Celebration of Life services will be held on July 31, 2026, 12:30 pm at Tracy Memorial Chapel, 5 W. Highland Ave. in Tracy. Following the service, Darlene will be laid to rest at Tracy Public Cemetery on Schulte Road.
