Jack Timothy “Tim” Brumley died on June 30, 2026 at home in College City, California at the age of 82.

Tim was born in Stockton, California on July 3, 1943 to Jack and Ruby Brumley of Lathrop, California. After graduating Manteca High School, Tim attended junior colleges before graduating from Chico State.

Sports played a big role in Tim’s life. He enjoyed a successful athletic career throughout his school days, culminating as captain of the baseball team at Chico State, where he was also a member of the Lambda Pi Fraternity. Tim met his closest friends through athletics.

Upon graduating from college he moved to Arbuckle and began his 35–year teaching career at Pierce Joint Unified School District. Known by all as Mr. “B,” Tim was passionate about coaching football, baseball and golf at Pierce High School. He was grateful to his mentor and friend Gregg LeMaster, who helped hone his skills.

Tim also hosted boxing matches and enjoyed being the emcee for the high school lip sync, where he was known to introduce himself as his favorite singer, Johnny Cash.

Outside of teaching and coaching, Tim loved to refinish golf clubs and spend time at the Arbuckle Golf Course. It was important for him to support the community that gave him so much. The College City sign will continue to be a legacy of what he and his friend, Santiago, were able to accomplish.

Above all, it was spending time with his family and grandchildren that gave Tim the greatest joy.

Tim is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Myers (Ted); son, Timothy David (TD) Brumley; grandchildren Vaughn, Luke and Aileen Myers of College City; sisters Andrea Jones (Stan) of Grand Junction, Colorado and Melissa Costa (Bill) of Elk Grove, California and brother Terry Brumley (Donna) of Umpqua, Oregon; and sister–in–law Mary Traynham of College City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Ruby Brumley; wife, Carolyn Traynham Brumley; grandson, Asa Timothy Myers; brothers–in–law, Stephen Traynham and Lee Traynham; and sister–in–law, Cookie Traynham.

Instead of a funeral or celebration of life, Tim’s wish was that people will, “do something nice with their family today and give them all a big hug.”

Tim’s family wishes to thank his caregivers, family and friends for their love and support.

In lieu of flowers, they ask that donations in Tim’s name may be made to Pierce Pride Foundation, Arbuckle Fire Department or Arbuckle Golf Course.
