Golden West advances 50+ 8th graders to high school

Eighth graders at Golden West Elementary School filed into the multi-purpose room Monday for the Promotion Celebration

Over fifty eighth graders at Golden West Elementary School were honored on Monday.

Of that, nearly a one-third had been at the Manteca Unified school site since kindergarten.

Student speaker Kaylee Bruan had members of her class taking a stand while being recognized as to when they first arrived at Golden West.

Principal Tony Shah acknowledged his eighth graders, following their promotion, can now look ahead to high school.

This was the first of many promotion celebrations at Manteca Unified scheduled for the week.

The eighth-grade events scheduled today include Brock Elliott (school courtyard, 9 a.m.), George McParland (school courtyard, 9 a.m., Mossdale (gym, 9 a.m.), Lathrop Elementary (gym, 11 a.m.); and Woodward (multi-purpose room, 3 p.m.).

  • Wednesday, May 24 – 9 a.m., French Camp (multi-purpose room), George Komure (multi-purpose room), Joshua Cowell (courtyard), Neil Hafley (courtyard); 11 a.m., Great Valley (multi-purpose room), Stella Brockman (courtyard); 1:30 p.m., Lincoln (multi-purpose room); 2 p.m., August Knodt (gym), Sequoia (blacktop); 3:30 p.m., New Haven (gym); 4 p.m., Nile Garden (gym).
  • Thursday, May 25 – 10 a.m., Joseph Widmer (quad), Shasta (gym); 1:30 p.m., Veritas (gym).
