The current exhibit at Lathrop City Hall in the Council Chambers features the photographs of Manteca Bulletin correspondent Rose Albano Risso.

An award-winning journalist and photojournalist, Risso’s news photographs and stories have won awards from the California Newspaper Association and the National Newspaper Association of America. Her fine art photographs have also won numerous awards in a number of competitions including the annual Lathrop Mayor’s Art Purchase Award and Sale.

Several of her photographs have been featured in the book, “San Joaquin County Solutions,” (poetry by Grammy Award nominee Michael C Ford, illustrated by Risso’s photos), “Haiku: Notes to Myself,” “Birdwatching in San Joaquin County,” Modern Photography and American Photo (magazines,) and Cornell Lab of Ornithology (website), among others.

The exhibit in the Lathrop Council Chambers is available for public viewing during regular business hours. City Hall is located at 390 Towne Centre Drive in the Mossdale Landing area just west of Interstate 5 on the south side of River Islands Parkway. (www.ci.lathrop.ca.us/ Tel 209.941.7360)

The photo exhibit featuring the photographs of Rose Albano Risso is just the latest in the ongoing art shows held inside the Council Chambers. But every spring, the Council Chambers is the site of the widely popular Mayor’s Art Purchase Award Show and Sale.
