Bypass interchange at Yosemite Avenue getting new ramps
caltrans logo.gif

Truck merging onto westbound 120 Bypass from Yosemite Avenue will be less precarious under a proposed reconfiguration of on and off ramps.

The current westbound ramps are in a tight diamond configuration.

They will be replaced with a loop on ramp and a diagonal off ramp that will be tied to an intersection with the east side of Yosemite Avenue north of the interchange. The new intersection will have traffic signals.

The new ramps would allow for a longer merge onto the 120 Bypass and tie into the transition ramp to northbound Interstate 5.

The existing eastbound ramps will be widened.

Guthmiller Road on the southside of the interchange will be widened to four travel lanes — a pair of 12-foot lanes in each direction — along with bike lanes in both directions and a sidewalk on the east side.

The improvement with accommodate the further development of the Gateway Business Park Specific Plan.

Existing tenants south of the Bypass include Wayfair while Macy’s is among the current tenants to the north.

There is a significant amount of land yet to be developed for distribution center and business park purposes.

Caltrans is now accepting public comment thru Nov. 4 on the initial study with a proposed mitigated negative declaration for the joint project with the City of Lathrop.

Construction is targeted to start in December of 2028.

Manteca is in the process of the initial study to convert interchanges at Airport Way and Main Street along the 120 Bypass into diverging diamond configurations similar to the Union Road interchange.
