Paul W. Young
August 22, 1958-September 29, 2026
Paul W. Young obit

Paul W. Young, 68, passed away peacefully at home on September 29, 2026, in Manteca, California. Born in Washington on August 22, 1958.

Paul was a Manteca resident for 63 years and a graduate of Manteca High School, Class of 1976, where he participated in football, wrestling, and track.  Paul was a welder by trade and worked for Tuff Boy Trailers for 22 years. He later devoted his time to the family businesses, Hansel & Gretel and Kids Academy, overseeing transportation and maintenance.  Above all, Paul was devoted to his family. He was instrumental in his daughters’ lives growing up, coaching and attending their many activities, and that same devotion continued with his grandchildren. For 26 years, Paul was also a familiar face at Sierra High School football games, volunteering on the chain gang every home game.

Paul enjoyed family trips to Pinecrest, taking the kids fishing, collecting coins, gardening, and helping his children and others with projects. Described as a “gentle giant,” Paul could be tough on the outside but had a soft heart and always put his family’s needs before his own.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Mary Ann Young; daughters, Lori Young (Dave), Lisa Brown (Seanee), and Leslie Garcia (Miguel); grandchildren, Jayden, Jace, Indiana, August, Eros, Millie, Zoey, and Eli; and brother, Mark Young (Stephanie). Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Donna Young, and his brother, David Young.

Paul will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family, his willingness to always lend a hand, his work ethics, and the countless ways he showed his love simply by being there.
