Jacob Naven is the single biggest donor in the history of Manteca election campaigns.

Naven as of Oct. 8 has contributed $16,086 to his campaign for mayor in the Nov. 3 election that also features incumbent Gary Singh.

That represents more than a quarter of all funds of $60,044 Naven has collected as of Oct. 8.

The prior high mark for accumulative donations in a campaign from one person, company, or organization was $7,500.

“I’m fortunate to be a part of the community,” Naven said. “I’m willing to give back time, talent (to Manteca).”

Naven said “I believe in what I am doing.”

Naven has also been “doing his homework” on city operations having spent Monday on a ride-along with solid waste as they made collections and trips to the Lovelace Transfer station.

This week Naven is wrapping up his nine-week participation in the City of Manteca citizens academy designed to give residents a better understanding of how city government works as well as the state laws the city must follow.

Naven also gotten sizeable donations including $5,500 from the Building Industry Association of the Greater Valley.

Singh has raised $75,602 since Jan. 1, 2026. When coupled with his carryover of $44,121 from the 2022 campaign, Singh had $119,723 to spend on his campaign.

His biggest contributors this year were the North Coast States Regional Council of Carpenters and small businessman Gaurav Gauba that each donated $5,000.

Unlike in his 2022 race, Singh has not collected any money from developers or gas station owners.

Council campaigns

In the District 4 City Council race representing Manteca north of Louise Avenue with the exception of the Diamond Oaks neighborhood, incumbent Mike Morowit has raised $36,762.

Dani Bettencourt, who is one of Morowit’s two challengers, has raised $5,485.

His other challenger, Rogger Gutierrez, has self-funded his campagna with $2,100.

In District 3 that covers what was essentially the city limits in 1970, incumbent Dave Breitenbucher has raised $13,235 include $5,000 from the Building Industry Association of the Great Valley.

His opponent Lee Ann Larson lists no donations to her campaign.
