New Haven 8th graders head to high school

Payton Adams takes in his eighth-grade promotion ceremony at New Haven Elementary School, riding in the back of the truck during last week’s drive-thru event.

The eighth-grade class at New Haven Elementary School came rolling in last week aboard some nicely decorated vehicles, receiving their certificates of promotion from the Manteca Unified School District.

All told, 68 were honored at the drive-thru event led by Principal Debbie Doyle and Vice Principal Melissa Herrera.

Their teachers – namely, Kathy Corriea, Desiree Coon and Erik Alves – announced the Academic Awards while Doyle gave out the special awards at the event held on May 26.
