The Manteca golf course is not expected to need an infusion this fiscal year from the municipal general fund to cover operating and maintenance costs.

The course is projected to generate $1,918,000 in revenue on top of the fund balance of $1,239,518 that was on hand July 1.

Once anticipated expenditures of $2,164,337 are made, the golf course is projected to end the current fiscal year on June 30, 2027 with a $993,982 fund balance.

There were 74,509 rounds of golf played last year. It is projected 75,000 rounds will be played during the current fiscal year.

The golf course hosted 77 tournaments last fiscal year with the expectation 79 will take place this fiscal year.

The golf course budget this fiscal year includes $80,000 for golf cart path and curb installation, $40,000 for golf irrigation system upgrade, $40,000 to obtain a turf maintenance top dresser, and $109,537 for the replacement of a large rough mower.

Last fiscal, the golf course required a $90,378 transfer from the general fund to cover operating and maintenance costs.

Citywide, the overall budget — once sewer, water, golf course and solid waste as well as growth fee accounts, special funds, street projects, capital improvement projects and restricted funds such as the $15 million state grant for the homeless navigation center construction that will be tapped into this year — comes to $391 million.

That’s up from $310 million in the fiscal year that ended June 30.

The general fund portion of the budget— that covers day-to-day municipal operations such as police, fire, streets and parks— is projected to see revenue top $87 million.

That is up from last year’s $80.4 million.
