Michael Restuccia is seeking re-election.

The longtime Ripon City Council member and current vice mayor is on the ballot for the November election, according to the latest San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters office’s candidate listings.

His seat and the one currently occupied by Mayor Dean Uecker are set to expire this year. Both are four-year terms.

Gary Barton’s term is also up for election. He was appointed to the City Council in December, finishing up the first half of Tim Wheeler’s term – originally set to expire in 2024.

Barton or any challenger for that matter could vie for the remaining two years.

Council passed a resolution at the July 12 meeting on the municipal code calling for a consolidated election with the statewide general election on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

All persons interested in running for the three available positions can do so by contacting City Clerk Lisa Roos by the close of business on Thursday, Aug. 11.

Filing papers may be obtained from Ripon City Hall, 259 N. Wilma Ave., from Monday through Thursday during business hours (7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.).

Candidates must be registered voters and reside within the Ripon city limits.
