Results are in for Fourth of July parade contestants

The illegal variety of fireworks was ample all over Ceres on Wednesday night. When one fell into a crowd on Southern Oak Drive and exploded, at least four suffered burns. The culprit was not found. - photo by Contributed

The Fourth of July parade judging results have been tabulated for all divisions. 

The first-place award in Auto/Custom cars category went to Mike Samanieso with his Outkast Jeepers.  Second place went to Gary Singh with the Sikh Rider of Central Valley and third was taken by Duane Wise of The Wise Family.

First place in Antique cars went to Howard Miller representing Howard Miller and Ray Mendes. Second went to George Markham.

In the Athletic Section, a first place went to Mike Calmes of the Northgate Little league, second to Jenna Virdell of Funtastic Gymnastics and third to Codi Herrema with the Manteca Dolphin Swim Team.

Under the heading of Business/Commercial, the first-place award went to Christina Arroyo of A & W Pool Service. Second place was given to Vincent Haro of Haro Carpet Cleaning, and third to Bridget Acree of Prestige Senior Living.  

In the Civic category, the first-place award was given to Jose Nuno of Nuno for City Council 2018.  Second place went to SAFE, Seniors Helping the fire service in Manteca and presented to Fire Department representative Amie Rubio.  Third place went to Eva Kidwell of the emergency police response volunteers CERT. 

In the category of family, Rex and Jeannie Sparks received their first-place honors for their very own Sparks Family. Second place went to the Conway Family represented by Brian and Laura Conway.  And, third place honors went to Sarah Rockey for the entry of The Rockey-Grubb Family. 

In the Historic category, Gary Singh took first place honors for his Tung Tractors and in the Marching/Drill category Jaspreet Singh was honored with first place for his California Gatka Dal. 

The Military/Veterans category saw Bob Gonzales receive the first-place award for the American Legion and VFW joint entry.  Dave La Breque won second place with the Go-Devil GI Jeep Club entry.  Third went to the Color Guard of the VFW Post 6311.

The Manteca Unified School District Band took first in the Musical/Band category and Ashley Elliott scored a first in the Novelty category as Miss California State.  

In the Patriotic category, Kiwanian Morgan Caperon took a first place again this year with the Manteca Morning Kiwanis float. Second place honors went to Steve Ramierz of the VFW Post 6311 cart.  Another shared second place went to Delbert Wester representing the Flag Man. 

In the Religious category, the “His Way Recovery” team took a first with their Pooper Scoopers entry.  

In the Schools category, Delfina Saenz took first for the Golden West Folkloric Dancers.

Under the Scouting category, Girl Scout Troop 726 received a first-place honor given to Deborah Herrera.  The second place went to Boy Scouts and was presented to K.C. Moebius.

In the twirling category, the first-place honor went to Dandi Manuel with Graffiti Sweeties and second went to Yolanda Russell of the Manteca Shooting Stars Baton Corps. 

In the Youth category, the first-place award went to Greg Brown of the Victorious Elite Allstars and second went to Yoli Vaughn of the Manteca Youth Focus.
