Ripon board discussing reopening protocols for next school year

The Ripon Unified school board meeting at 7 p.m. Monday in the Council Chambers will continue be aired livestream due to the global coronavirus pandemic.

Student Trustee Gianna Brocchini will be recognized for her services during the past year. The Ripon High senior – she’s scheduled to graduate on July 31 – was a voting member of the school board.

Superintendent Ziggy Robeson will also talk about re-opening plans for the 2020-2021 school year, consisting of COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines.

In other agenda items:

  • CFO Frank Jerome will talk about the budget development process, a partner to the LCAP development process which provides an opportunity for stakeholder involvement. He indicated that the budget process begins early in the year so that timely decisions can be made to the current budget and/or multi-year projections. A public hearing is also scheduled for the proposed budget including a review of excess general fund reserves.
  • The board packet featuring Ripon High’s Agricultural Career Technical Education Incentive Grant for the 2020-2021 school year, as authorized by the State of California, providing $28,648 – part of matching fund grant provided by VEA, LCAP, and Clinton School Farm – will be used to benefit the local ag program.
