Mistlin Sports Park will be the place to be on Wednesday evening.

The admission-free Boomfest Ripon Fourth of July Spectacular will take place from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. along the 80 acre community space at 1201 W. River Rd. near Jack Tone Road.

“We couldn’t have done this without donations and sponsorships,” said Ripon Chamber of Commerce CEO Tamara Spade said.

Among the big contributors were California Rock Crushers Corporation or Cal Crush, Burkett’s Pool Plastering Inc. and Mistlin Honda.

With help from Just Rewards Trophy Shop, the Independence Day event will also feature a Rods and Rocket Car Show for the first time, according to Spade.

The various radio stations of Cumulus Media will be on hand at the event, playing various genres of music while vendors including Lockeford Meats and Sausage will be offering a variety of foods and beverages.

Parking is $5, with the half of the proceeds benefiting the Band Boosters of Ripon Unified School District. “Anything left will go towards next year’s fireworks show,” Spade said.

Every little bit has helped keep the Fourth of July pyrotechnics going in Ripon.

A Go Fund account brought in about $300 to $400 from donors.

The aerial pyrotechnics are scheduled to start at 9:20 p.m.
