In recent years, the Ripon Chamber Foundation has served as the catalyst of the Fourth of July fireworks show at the Mistlin Sports Park.

The admission-free Boomfest pyrotechnic spectacular relied on donations, sponsorships and even a Go Fund Me account.

The Chamber Foundation, in 2014, took over from the City of Ripon – most notably, the Fireworks Committee – which brought back the fireworks show to the community.

At the March 12 City Council meeting, President and CEO Kelly Donohue of the Ripon Chamber of Commerce, speaking on behalf of the Chamber Foundation, told elected leaders that the Foundation no longer had the funds or the resources to operate another the Fourth of July event.

“If another organization would like to take on this wonderful event, (the Chamber) would be happy to help with the details,” she said.

Those interested can call the Chamber office at 209.599.7519 during business hours, Mondays through Fridays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
