Ripon school board recognizing students, teachers, staff Monday

Trustees of the Ripon Unified School District will recognize the various students, teachers and staff members at Monday’s 7 p.m.  monthly session in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

Included will be student board member Dallas Waters for his service for this past school year along with those receiving the California State Seal of Biliteracy and the Pathway to Biliteracy – 14 young Pathway to Biliteracy recipients and 42 State Seal of Biliteracy recipients – and the four employees of the district with a collective 109 years of service.

Superintendent Ziggy Robeson, in her report to school board, will honor the retiring Carrie Gatti (15 years), Theresa Morrison (26 years), Kathryn Paredes (30 years) and Wayne Webb (38 years).

In other agenda items:

Board members will acknowledge ASB President Mia Benzinger and her advisor Jill Mortensen as the California Association of Student Leaders 2018-19 Outstanding Leadership Program.

They’ll honor Weston Elementary School teacher Susan Ash and Ripon High’s Alisha Vasche as Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1051 Teachers of the Year.

Trustees will recognize Jill McPherson of RHS as Trans-Valley League Model Coach of the Year.

The board will also conduct a public hearing for the naming of the RUSD farm to be “David Luis Agricultural and Education Facility.”
