The water conservation efforts in Ripon continue to show strong numbers.

“For May, we were at 34.2 percent,” Ripon Public Works Director Ted Johnston, said of the city-wide reduction effort, using the water levels from pre-drought 2013 as the base line comparison.

Ripon posted similar strong numbers for April.

Johnston added: “We’re still doing very well.”

As for the running 12-month average, Ripon was at 24.8 percent.

Mayor Leo Zuber asked about the water wasters.

“We’re still issuing citations and we’re even checking (places) for water leaks,” Johnston said.
