Now is the time to do spring cleaning in the fall.
The City of Ripon is conducting its annual City-Wide Yard Sale on Saturday, Oct. 13.
Some 100 homes are expected to take part in this event held on the second Saturday of October – also part of the City of Ripon’s recycling program, promoting re-use, repair, and recycle – which allows folks to clear out some of their belongings while making extra cash in the process.
The City-Wide Yard Sale has been held locally for nearly 20 years.
The deadline for those looking to participate is Tuesday, Oct. 9.
Registration forms are available at the Public Works Department, 259 N. Wilma Ave. The City-Wide Yard Sale will also be advertised in newspapers from the surrounding areas and on various garage sale websites.
Items featured will include clothes, baby items, houseware goods, furniture, tools, electronics, appliances, outdoor items and toys, to name a few.
Yard Sale maps of the participating homes will be available at Save Mart and Schemper’s Ace Hardware after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10, or in front of Ripon City Hall (after business hours on Friday and that Saturday morning).
This is the second of two yard-sale events held by the City. The other one is the Community Yard Sale held each spring at the Mistlin Sports Park.
