‘Hope Dealer’ Jeremy Bates — a nationally recognized motivational speaker — is part of the 13th annual Teen Summit being staged by Give Every Child a Chance on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

The summit takes place during fall break when there is no school at the Golden West School campus.

Bates is a self-described “addict of potential, disbeliever of convention, and dealer of hope.”

The Teen Summit is free and open to seventh through 12th graders in the Manteca Unified School District. Bus transportation will be provided from several neighborhood schools to the summit taking place at Golden West School on North Main Street from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event includes a continental breakfast and lunch provided by Panda Express.

Attendees are able to select between two workshops to attend.

Breakout sessions include Be Safe & Alert (self-defense), vaping and e-cigarettes  — the ugly truth, strong mind — strong life, floral design, get noticed by dressing for success, Zumba, fit as a firefighter, eat well — cheap, get smart workout, and eating on the go.

Attendees will receive a free T-shirt and a raffle ticket for a chance to win a number of items such as gift cards, AMC movie passes, Bluetooth speaker, fitness tracker, Echo Dot, Spyderball, and more.

Registration is being accepted through Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Those interested in attending and who have not registered need to contact Chuck Crutchfield at ccrutchfield@gecac.net or call Crutchfield at 823-6532.
