Weston Elementary School opened the new school year with the most improved attendance rate in the Ripon Unified School District.
Director of Student Services and Special Education Coordinator Ann Siegel made that announcement at Monday’s school board meeting.
Those figures were based on the last year’s numbers compared to that of the August attendance figures.
Colony Oak Elementary School, at 98.27 percent, kicked off the 2025-2026 school year with highest percentage in attendance among the five elementary school sites, Ripon High, and even the alternative education site, Harvest High.
As for enrollment, RUSD’s overall student tally was 3,257 for August.
Ripon High had a count of 976 students during the reporting period of Aug. 6 through Aug. 29.
Ripon Elementary had 456 students during the same span, followed closely by Ripona (455), Weston (453), Park View (440), and Colony Oak (425).
The Independent Study program and Harvest had enrollment numbers of 31 and 21, respectively, for that first enrollment month.
