Murder victim IDed as Timothy Spino, 29

Timothy Spino, 29, has been identified as the murder victim who was fatally shot Friday night in a home in the 200 block of Jessie Avenue in front of his girlfriend and child, according to family and friends.

A funeral is being planned for Spino in the upcoming days at P.L. Fry Mortuary on Union Road in Manteca.

Spino suffered a single gunshot to the torso after a confrontation shortly before 9 p.m. with three black men who had entered the home on Jessie Avenue, according to Manteca Police.  The three suspects fled the home immediately after the shooting.  Spino reportedly died shortly after being transported by ambulance to San Joaquin County Hospital in French Camp.

Patrol officers and gang detectives had responded to the home just west of the Union Pacific Railroad tracks and south of Yosemite Avenue.  Detectives are continuing their investigation, attempting to identify the suspects and determine a motive for the shooting.
