Manteca’s Chief Police Chief Nick Obligacion is speaking Thursday, March 13, at a meeting of the Manteca Patriots from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Chez Shari at the Manteca Golf Course on North Union Road.
Some of the topics the Chief is expected to cover include:

Manteca’s crime stats and both what is making a difference and the challenges ahead
the impacts of the prison realignment
recidivism and how long various arrests keep prior offenders off the street’

Obligacion took over as chief in February of 2012. He was already a 20-year veteran of the Manteca Police Department having served as a police officer, K-9 officer, motor officer, motor sergeant, SWAT team member, SWAT team leader, tactical commander, and sergeant. He came to Manteca from Monterey County where he served as a deputy sheriff.
