Manteca’s Cabral Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram dealership has purchased some $1,500 of entries to Saturday’s Rina’s Run that owner Don Cabral is offering to customers who take a test ride in a new car and mention the event by name.

The Seventh Annual Rina’s Run will once again present a 5K run/walk and a Half Marathon along with a vendor fair this Saturday, May 10. The Half Marathon is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. and the 5K at 7:20 a.m. starting in the Ripon High School stadium with runners expected to double the count of last year.

The run is a major fundraiser going towards the completion of the all weather track, field and a plethora of other projects at the stadium.

“It’s a perfect race for first-timers and seasoned runners with a flat and fast course,” according to Stephanie Hobbs who has long spearheaded the stadium reconstruction event. “There will be T-shirts and finisher medals for every participant,” she added.

Following the race there will be free coffee and refreshments with breakfast burritos being offered for sale at the finish line in the stadium. The breakfast burritos are a fundraiser for youth baseball in the community. The Ripon Rotary Club is manning a water station on the course. For the safety of the participants the Ripon Police Department is closing the course for the first hour of the event from 7 a.m. until 8 a.m.

Registration is available early on race day but the online and mail-in registrations have been recommended. For more information go to www.rinasrun.com or call Stephanie Hobbs at 209.599.6861.
