Social Muse plans health & wellness fair
health for story 3
Jennifer Hart and Amy Acaya are planning Revival 209 Mind, Body, and Spirit a health and wellness fair and exhibition.

When Jennifer Hart and Amy Acaya first came up with the idea for The Social Muse – their social hosting business that has done everything from holiday parties to winery trips – they wanted to have a free yoga-in-the-park event.
Circumstances didn’t allow that to happen, but now the duo that are behind the multi-generational speed dating venue are putting a renewed focus on personal health and fitness in the New Year, they’re going back to the list to check that one off.
Only it’ll be in a studio this time.
Dubbed Revival 209 Mind, Body, and Spirit, the fitness and health fair event that The Social Muse will host at Cal-Fit on Saturday, Feb. 10, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. will be free to the public. It will include a half-hour workout with a local personal trainer and a one-hour hot yoga class to show the different ways that people can commit to a healthy body and a healthy mind in 2018.
“It’s something that we’ve always wanted to do, and we’re excited about the turnout – I know that yoga is something that’s very near-and-dear to me, and I’m looking forward to sharing that with people.
“Right now, it’s just this one event, but it could open the door to more in the future.”
The day is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. with check-in and the opportunity to check out various vendor booths from personal trainers, supplement providers, nutrition supplements and meal-prep centers before local Personal Trainer Alex Avila – the owner of Func-Fit Boot Camp – leads attendees through a 30-minute workout to show some of the exercises that are good for losing weight and targeting certain muscle groups. Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes and shoes and bring a towel and water.
After a 30-minute break following the boot camp class, Lauren Dowling will be putting on a one-hour Hatha hot yoga class for anybody 16 and over regardless of their level of experience. Guests are encouraged to bring a yoga mat, towel and water, and make sure they hydrate before the class because of the heat-element of the exercise.
Cal Fit Manteca is located at 441 N. Main Street in Manteca. For additional information visit www.calfitmanteca.com. Space for the event is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis so those wishing to participate are encouraged to arrive prior to the 8:30 registration start.
“This is an element of the business that we’ve always been interested in, and we’re hoping that we’re going that this draws enough interest to make this something we can do again,” Hart said. “We look forward to seeing people out at the event.”
