Barbara (Petersen) Janzen, 96, of Manteca, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2014. She was born October 25, 1917 in Stockton, California, and raised and educated there. She started working in the school cafeteria system and retired after a 30 year career as Food Service Director for the Manteca School District. Following her retirement, she and her husband Herman traveled extensively from Alaska to Florida.
   Barbara leaves behind her son, Edward and wife Janice Janzen of Everett, WA and daughter Barbara Ann and husband Danny Fox of Manteca, nine grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman W. Janzen, Sr, and her eldest son Herman W. Janzen, Jr.
   Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 from 4-8pm at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, Lodi, CA 95240. Funeral services will take place at 1pm, Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Evergreen Chapel, Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy 99 and Harney Ln, Lodi CA with Pastor Ed Kok officiating.
