Byrl Wane Knutson, age 70, entered into his eternal life joining his mother Vera Wells, his father James Knutson, grandmother Pearl Erdman and his aunt Ruth Rehak.

Byrl was born on April 9, 1941 in Pismo Beach, CA moving to Manteca in 1942. He graduated from Manteca High School in 1958. Byrl worked at Sanchez gas station for 12 years, retiring from Fox River Paper Co. after 28 years of service. Byrl was very active at the Manteca Senior Center, serving on the Advisory Board, and helped plan and host trips and tours. He helped in implementing and hosting a WII bowling league within the center. Byrl carried his camera everywhere. He loved filling the center’s walls with recent events.

Byrl is survived by his fiancee Susan Schink, daughter Rita and Roscoe Locke, son Wane and Olga Knutson, stepdaughters; Laurie and James McClure, and Suuze Schink. 11 grandchildren; Tonya Ortez, Roscoe Locke Jr., Tabitha Lopez, Tina Bent, Tonia Manly, Bob Manly, James Dailey, Jack Dailey, Helena Schink, Jerry Mulford Jr. and Anthony Mulford. Byrl has 21 great grandchildren. Also survived by aunt Ruby and Carl Steppenbeck, uncle Jack and Janetta Erdman, uncle Mike and Patty Erdman, as well as many cousins. Byrl will be missed deeply and will live in the hearts of many.

A gathering will be held at the Manteca Senior Center on April 7, 2012 to celebrate his life between 11am and 5pm, located at 295 Cherry Lane, Manteca, CA
