Cecelia De Araujo passed away peacefully on December 9, 2010, at the age of 94, at Bethany Home in Ripon.  Cecelia Isabel Lawrence was born in Hilo, Hawaii, and was the youngest of 7 children.  She married Manuel De Araujo and they moved to the mainland in 1956 where they settled in Oakland, CA.  She worked as a seamstress for many years.  

Her faith was very important to her and she prayed for her family daily.  She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Diana De Araujo of Livermore, CA.  She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren; Steven & Connie De Araujo, David & Julie De Araujo, Scott & Kristen De Araujo, all of Ripon, Kenny & Lisa De Araujo of Railroad Flat, and Gregory Battna of Livermore.  She also leaves behind 13 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, her siblings, and one grandson, Calvin De Araujo.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at 2 p.m., at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel, 111 S. Palm Avenue, Ripon.
