Chester (Chet) Arthur Esenwein Jr. passed away early on Saturday from natural causes, after major surgery. He was 77 years old. He was born in Buffalo, N.Y., on Oct. 8, 1936. He spent four years in the U.S. Navy where he earned his veteran status in the Vietnam War. He was well known as the best auto detailer in Manteca, owning his own detail business for many years.
   He was preceded in death by his mother Thelma, father Chester Sr., and son Timothy. He is survived by his son Randy Esenwein of Hickman, Calif.; his brother Dennis Esenwein of Escalon; as well as his extended family who cared for him deeply, Sherry and Glenn Dammen; and his family at the 133 Club in Manteca.
   He was well known for his infectious laugh. He was quick to help anyone if asked. He was one of the handiest people anyone could know and could fix anything.
   Celebration of life services will be held at the 133 Club in Manteca, on Sunday March 9, 2014, at noon. Feel free to join and bring a dish, as it is a potluck. Burial services will be held at San Joaquin National Cemetary in Santa Nella, Calif., on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at 2:15 p.m., where he will be laid to rest with full military honors.
