Dorothy Jackson passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 82 on March 23, 2015 with her son and daughter by her side. Dorothy was born on July 2, 1932 in Grand Forks, ND. She has been a resident of Ripon for the past 12 years.
Dorothy worked for Blue Cross in Oakland, CA for 19 years. It was during this time she became an avid Oakland A’s fan. She would sneak away for a game whenever she could. In 2003, Dorothy and her late husband, Marv moved to Ripon to live out their retirement and to be closer to family. Dorothy lived for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she was a wonderful mother and grandmother that will be deeply missed.
Dorothy leaves behind her son, Dannie Jackson of Ripon, daughter, Vickie Promes and son-in-law Mike of Ripon and daughter Kathi Bruce and son-in-law Roger of Portland, OR. Her grandchildren: Jason Promes, Victor Adams II, Colleen Danielly, Angela Horton and James Adams, her eight great grandchildren: Vanessa Adams, Victor Adams III, Alexis Danielly, Joshua Promes, Alyssa Danielly, Ashley Promes, Madisyn Horton and Aaliyah Danielly, she also leaves behind her sister, Doris Boniarczyk of Minn.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Marvin E Jackson.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Deegan Memorial Chapel. A visitation is scheduled for Friday, March 27 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM with a funeral service starting at 2:00 PM at Deegan Memorial Chapel in Ripon.
