Frances H. Libby, 82, entered into rest on June 11, 2009 in Redding, California. She was born on November 20, 1926 in Sunnyside, Washington. She was a resident of Redding for the past 20 years previously of Manteca and Escalon for 60-years.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband William Libby. She also joins her siblings in heaven; Delbert Brooks, Lucy McAllister, and Velma Mall.  She is survived by one brother Kenneth Brooks of Brentwood as well as nieces and nephews Carol and Tim Hodges of Cottonwood and Sherry Cotta of Galt. She has one son of Nebraska and 8 grandchildren. Mrs. Libby graduated from Escalon High and retired as a Postal Clerk in the 95205 area. She was a very proud veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1951-1954. She volunteered countless hours with the Red Cross, and WAC (Wives of the Army Corp.)  She loved to crochet, knit, read, travel and play Pinochle.

Mrs. Libby’s arrangements are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. All services will be kept private. She will be laid to rest with her late husband at a later date at Park View Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to your favorite charity.
