We lost a good man. Gary Lee Jones lived his life with passion, full of love. He was a Deputy Sheriff, a Police Officer, a son, a brother, a father, a friend, and a husband. He is survived by his mother Anne; his brother Rick; his children Ryan (Susanna); Jennifer; Richard (RaeAnne); Anthony (Lisa); Michael; Lindsey; and Sam; his two grandchildren Dominic and Brendon; countless friends; including his ex-wife Marci (Shae); and his beloved wife Brenda. He is preceded in death by his father Haskel, and his sister Sandra.
Gary’s accomplishments are too many to list. His willingness to share his passion for life has ensured that his legacy will survive. He fought a brave and hard fight, and gave that pesky brain tumor a run for its money for over a decade, exuding a level of strength most never knew existed. He will always be remembered for that fighting spirit. The light never went out of his eyes, and the smile was present until the end.
A celebration of Gary’s life will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014, 1p.m., at the Stockton Police Officer’s Association Building, 217A Fyffe Ave, Stockton (Port of Stockton).
