Jane Elizabeth Rippeteau Malott died Monday, October 17, 2011 at the age of 81. She is survived by her children, Kathryn Jane Malott of Palm Desert, CA & H. Weston Malott Jr. & his wife, ‘M’ Malott of Dayton, NV & her sister, Marian Klise, of Salt Lake City, UT.  She was grandma to Rebecca Hutson of Palm Desert, CA & H. Weston Malott III of Seattle, WA. She was known and adored as “Nana” to her three great-grandsons, Chandler, Alexander & Nicholas Hutson.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Harvey Weston Malott Sr.

She was born and raised in Kansas City, MO  After her marriage to Harvey
Malott they headed west ending up in California.  She and her family settled in Manteca,CA in 1966 where they established Malott’s Dodge Dealership and then later Malott’s Honda Yamaha Motorcycle Dealership & Malott’s Custom Accessories. In 1979 they retired and traveled throughout the country in their Vogue motor home for approximately 10 years.

In 1998 she settled permanently as a resident of Sun City Palm Desert.  Her greatest joy was serving as the president of the “Here We Go” Travel Club, where she became well known for her Mystery Trips.

She was laid to rest at Parkview Cemetery in French Camp, CA next to her husband, on October 24, 2011.

A Memorial Reception will be held at the Lake View Club House, in Sun City Palm Desert on November 6, 2011 from 2pm-4pm, where family and friends can share their fun stories & happy memories of Jane in a Celebration of Life. In Lieu of flowers, the Malott Family has requested that donations be sent in Memory of Jane Malott to the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission where she enjoyed collecting turkeys & supporting the Holiday Meals.  Donations should be mailed to:  CVRM, in memory of Jane Malott, P.O. The family wishes to thank the Visiting Nurses Association of Inland Counties’ Hospice for honoring her final wishes.
