Surrounded by his family, Jesse Ellis Tolbert, 54, entered into rest on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010 after a brief illness. Born Feb. 23, 1956 to Jesse E. Tolbert Sr. and Vivian Tolbert, in Tracy. He joins his brother David Ellis Tolbert and his grandparents in Heaven.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Leslie Tolbert of Manteca, a son Jesse Tolbert of Manteca, a daughter Elisa Keemer (James) and grandson Koen of Shasta, Cal. Parents Jesse E. Tolbert Sr. and Vivian Tolbert of Manteca, brother Dwain Tolbert (Tammy) of Manteca, sister Donna Bonin (Tom) of Stockton, best friend David McLeod of Manteca. He was a wonderful uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Jesse lived in Manteca for 46 years. After completing high school he worked in construction. He loved camping and hunting and fishing at Eagle Lake. He was a jolly fun person and always looked on the bright side of life. He loved animals especially his new dog “Bella.” His greatest love was spending time with and cooking for his family.

At his request a memorial will be private.
