Jim Laberdee, 86 went home to be with the lord on April 26, 2012.

Jim was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio.  Jim enlisted in the Navy where he served during WWII.  He was employed by Libby Owens Ford glass for 34 years reaching the position of Superintendent of Quality Control.  Jim was a member of the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge.  While living in Manteca he attended United Lutheran church where he was active on the church council and he also served on the Manteca Planning Commission Council.  For many years during the Christmas season he served as Manteca's City "Santa Claus".

Jim was united in marriage on February 24, 1951, to his wife, Lee.  He is also survived by his two childern, a son; Timothy Laberdee (Nancy), a daughter, Barbara Jones (Bob Jones) and two grandchildren.  He also leaves behind a brother John Laberdee (Susan), two sisters-in-law Merci Scheele and Betty Laberdee along  with a number of nieces and nephews and loving friends.  Jim is preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

A memorial service will be held at the United Lutheran Church in Manteca, CA on Saturday June 30th. at 1:00pm.  The family would like to request in lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Jim Laberdee's name to Good Shepherd Hospice House located at 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, FL 33823.
