Born on December 8, 1949, John A. Barnes entered into rest on December 30, 2017 in Modesto, CA.
   He is preceded in death by his wife Sharlene Barnes. John is survived by his two children, Carolyn Welch and John Barnes. He was blessed by two grandchildren, Tyler Lewis and Hannah Welch. In addition, John has two surviving brothers, Dan and Mike Barnes.
   Mr. Barnes was a Menlo Park resident for four years, previously of Ripon for over 40 years. John was a Vietnam Veteran proudly serving his country through the United States Army. He retired from Sharpe Army Depot as an X-ray Technician and Lab Manager after 40 years of service. John loved music and was an avid guitar player and collector. He also enjoyed traveling around the world and getting good use out of his pilot license. John always lived life and lived it to the fullest. He was always very good at everything he set forth in doing, his talents were limitless.
