John Hernandez Jr., 56, passed away at Stanford Hospital on Friday, July 3, 2009. He was born on October 11, 1952 in Union City, CA.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and lived in Manteca for 16 years,. He was a resident of Riverbank for two years.
He is survived by his wife Christine Hernandez; 4 children, Anthony, Steven, Michael and Monique; 6 grandchildren; father, John Sr. Hernandez and two sisters, Margaret Leiva, Henrietta Laymon; many nephews and nieces, cousins and family members. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carmen Hernandez and brother, Raynold Hernandez.
He enjoyed family functions, music and playing his guitar. He truly will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known and loved him.
Final resting place will be at San Joaquin National Cemetery in Santa Nella on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 1 p.m. Deer Creek Funeral Service (16190 Foothill Blvd. San Leandro, CA 94578) is in charge of arrangements.
