“Coach” Marc D. Fulcher entered into rest January 19, 2010 in Manteca. He was born on April 12, 1949 in Oakland, CA. He joins his parents in heaven, E.A. Fulcher and Iva R.Tullis, as well as one brother, Edgar A. Fulcher Jr.
Marc leaves behind his loving wife, Wendy Fulcher and three daughters; Shavocki Fulcher of Stockton, Regina Fulcher of Manteca, and Tamra Bedford of Frisco, TX. He was blessed with 5 grandchildren; Tamaj Davis, Tayzhon Davis, Aliyah Woodall, Alijah Woodall and Jordan Bedford. Marc also leaves his brother, Raoul Fulcher of Oakland; two sisters-in-law, Calleen Fulcher and Dorothy Fulcher, both of Oakland; his closest friend, Reginald “Rick” Jackson of Dublin; and a host of nieces, nephews and a basketball family who loved him dearly.
Marc was a native of North Oakland before making Manteca his home in 1988. He took Wendy as his best friend and companion for life on July 10, 1988. Marc was a loving husband, father, brother, son, grandfather, uncle, friend, coach, and mentor of many. He had aspirations of playing basketball himself but when an ankle injury prevented that, he turned to coaching. Marc and Wendy founded the Delta Jammers in 1994 and the basketball family that evolved from that is worldwide. Marc’s success and inspiration was a blessing to everyone he touched.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in his honor on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca.
