Marjorie Stoops

Marjorie Stoops, 81, entered into rest on Dec. 14, 2010 in St. Helena, California. She was born in June 29, 1929 in Pittsburg, PA, to the late Edward and Hazel Roberts. Marjorie joins her husband in heaven of 60 years, Dale Stoops, who passed away just two months prior to her death. She also was  preceded in death by her loving son Ronald Alan Stoops and her brother Leland Roberts.

Mrs. Stoops is survived by her children; Robert Michael Stoops of Manteca, Linda Lutes and her husband Joel of Angwin and Sharon Thigpen and her husband Donald of Pope Valley. She was blessed with 7 grandchildren: Gina, Jennifer, Stephen, Cedric, Gilbert, Sara and Scot. Marjorie also had 6 great-grandchildren whom she adored: Colby, Anthony, Jessica, Jeremiah, Sean and Macey.

Marjorie was a homemaker raising her children in Manteca and assisting her husband in his medical practice. She was a member of The Ceres Seventh-day Adventist Church. Marjorie had a gift of hospitality; she loved entertaining family and friends in the comfort of her home. She enjoyed gardening, games, puzzles and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved a great joke with a playful loving heart. Her personality was always friendly in a reserved, mild-mannered way.

Mrs. Stoops’ services are under the direction of P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. She was laid to rest at Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood, MD, alongside her husband Dale. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to her church home Ceres Seventh-day Adventist Church 1633 Central Ave Ceres, Ca 95307.
