Ramon Gonzales, 67, passed away suddenly on Monday, May 12, 2009 with his loving family by his side. He was born January 24, 1942 in Mesa, AZ to the late Tony and Tomasa (Mendoza) Gonzales and has resided in Manteca for over 56 years.

He leaves behind his long time companion, former wife and caregiver, Janice Gonzales of Manteca; children Ramon Gonzales Jr., Phillip Gonzales and wife Michelle, Mark Gonzales, and Michele Gonzales all of Manteca; and grandchildren Michael Gonzales, Daniel Gonzales, Brittney Stapleton, Jessica Gonzales, Gabby Gonzales, Tiffany Gonzales, Marcus Gonzales, Frankie Gonzales, Michael Perez, and Rebecca Gonzales. He was also blessed with Bailey, his great granddaughter and has one more on the way. Ramon was a very honest hard working man; he worked as a produce manager for many years in the local grocery store. His greatest goal in life was to provide for his family; giving them nothing but the best and always making sure they had everything they needed. He loved his family dearly and always looked forward to their visits. Ramon was a very artistic man and enjoyed the great outdoors; from golfing to fishing he cherished it all. His talents and creativeness didn’t stop there; he loved restoring classic pickups and cars for the 50’s and 60’s into custom hot rods, doing all the body work and paint himself. He was also an avid fan of the San Francisco 49ers and NASCAR.

Ramon will be missed dearly by all his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Tony Gonzales and niece Christine Gonzales. A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca.
