Shawn McKinley, 46, entered into rest suddenly on Jan. 31, 2011 in Livermore, California. He was born on August 19, 1964 in Crossett, Arkansas. He was a resident of Manteca for 9 years.

Mr. McKinley is survived by his loving wife Jennifer McKinley. His children are: Jake McKinley (14), Zach McKinley (13), Kaylee McKee (15), and Chase McKee (13). He is also survived by his mother and father, Nancy & Donald Stevenson. He has one sister, Sunni Pocock, and her children (nephew) Logan and (niece) Elizabeth. In addition, Shawn is survived by many other aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members who loved him dearly.

Shawn retired after 22 years proudly serving his country under the United States Air Force, National Guard, and Army Reserve. At the time of his death, he was working for Lawrence Livermore Lab as a Field Training Officer (FTO). Shawn was a very laid-back man with a funny sense of humor. He was known to his family and friends as the “Poker Master”. No matter where Shawn was, he never missed a great game of poker, whether it be on-line or with his buddies, Shawn was always ready for the challenge. Shawn was the most un-materialistic man but always gave the best to his wife and children. He was always supportive in everything his children set out to achieve; their dreams and goals were also Shawn’s dreams and goals. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, wonderful father and an incredible brother and son. He will be missed.

Mr. McKinley services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. A celebration memorial will be held on Friday, Feb. 4, 2011 at 4p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home 290 N. Union Road, Manteca. An online guest book is available at www.plfryandson.com
