Born on November 2, 1949, Steven Mendosa, 70, entered into rest on August 11, 2020 in Stockton, CA. He is preceded in death by his mother Eileen Mendosa. Steven is survived by his loving family, father John Mendosa, brothers, Bill Mendosa (Marlene), Jack Mendosa and sister Renee Williams.
   Steven grew up in Manteca and made his home in Rancho Cordova for the past 25 years. He graduated from Manteca High in 1968 where he was a proud Buffalo playing football all four years. After high school Steven had a passion to continue to play football, he played for Delta Jr. College and was accepted to Chico State University where he played for three years and graduated with his Bachelors degree. Steven was extremely proud to be an alumni of Chico State where he was an amazing halfback which brought their team to hold the FWC conference championship title in 1971. Steven wore his title championship ring for over 47 years. In 2011, Steven was honored to be inducted in to the Chico State Hall of Fame.  After graduating from college, Steven went on to owning his own commercial artist company for 28 years. In 2005, Steven made a career change and accepted employment with the State of California Employment Development Department, he retired in 2015. Steven enjoyed watching football and listening to music. He was always involved in his community, volunteering every year with the Jazz Festival in Sacramento and was a member and volunteer with the Moose Lodge – Rancho Cordova. Steven will be remembered for his social attitude, his friendly smile and his loyalty to both family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
