Thelma Oleta Benham, 98, resident of Riverside, Cal. for 22 years, passed away on Saturday, January 2, at Riverside Community Hospital, due to heart failure.

Thelma was born August 28, 1915 in Pottawattiamie County, Oklahoma. She retired from San Joaquin County Hospital for 16 years as a Ward Clerk. She served as a Sunday School and vacation bible school teacher and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Moreno Valley, Cal.

Thelma is survived by her husband, James E. Benham Sr.; daughters, Ruth Aldrich of Riverside and Sue Lawson of Clovis; sons, Jim Benham of Riverside and Richard Benham of Seattle, WA; sister, Nell Callison of Bakersfield; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is Thursday, Jan. 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Acheson & Graham Memorial Chapel. Memorial service is Saturday, Jan. 16, 11 a.m. at Liberty Baptist Church in Moreno Valley. Private inurnment is at Riverside National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Alzheimers Foundation of America.
