William (Bill) Charles Robbins passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017 in Manteca at 9:38 p.m., with his youngest son at his side, after a short battle with cancer. Bill was born on June 22, 1942, in Modesto, CA to Ray and Elizabeth Robbins.
   He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters  Barbara, Loretta, Carolyn, Rosie and Mary Ellen, one brother Michael, and two sons Hugh Messer and Antony Messer.
   He is survived by his wife of 47 years Sharon Robbins, his daughter Chris (Jeff) Bradford of Arkansas, Steve (Cara) Robbins of Manteca, and Bill Baker of Ceres, grandchildren; Kattie and Jeffery Bradford, Anthony, Mykala and Tristan Robbins and Nathan Baker and Parys Timosh and several great- grandchildren.
   Bill lived most of his life in the Ripon/Manteca area, but did live in Washington State briefly while working for Boeing Airlines and also served in the United States Air Force. He worked for Contel Telephone Company as a telephone installer/repair man and retired after 27 years of service.
   He loved playing softball in his younger years and was an avid fisherman and loved to be visited by family and friends. He will be remembered for being a great Papa to his grandchildren and Big Papa to his great- grandchildren.
